Registration for the CYO 2026 Track & Field Season is now open for grades 3 through 8. Speed on over to https://cyojwa.org/current-programs to sign up!

No tryouts are required and all kids in the Nativity parish are welcome! Joining the track team is a terrific way to get some exercise, have fun with friends and develop a love for running. All you need is a pair of shoes and a little bit of determination.

5th-8th grade races include distances of 60m, 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m and 1 mile. There are also multiple relay races. Field events are high jump, long jump, ball throw and shot put. Athletes may compete in four events per meet.

3rd-4th grade races are 60m, 100m, 200m and 400m. Each runner may participate in two races per meet. There are no field events for 3rd-4th grade.

5th-8th Grade: Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:00 pm until 7:15 pm at Prairie Star Middle School, starting Monday, March 9 (practice times the week of spring break are TBD)

3rd-4th Grade: Tuesday nights only from 6:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Prairie Star Middle School, starting Tuesday, March 24 (no practice for these aged kids before or during spring break)

Track meets are scheduled for the following Saturdays: April 11 (@Miege), April 18 (@St. James) and April 25 (@St. James). City Finals will be held on Saturday, May 2 at Miege HS (5th-8th grade only). There is also an 8th grade ONLY Pentathlon to be held at Miege on Thursday, April 30th.

5th-8th Grade: $105

3rd-4th Grade: $75

PLEASE NOTE: Nativity is partnered up with St. Michael the Archangel for our team. When registering, please select “SMA/NAT 5-8” or “SMA/NAT 3-4” as the offering.

The good news is our team is growing, so we could really use some more help from VIRTUS-certified parents at practices and meets. Being a former track star is not required — no matter your level of experience, we’d truly appreciate the help!
